Marcie Gilliland, Ms.Ed (she/her)

Marcie Gilliland, Ms.Ed, believes that while some may think of therapy as scary, one of its primary functions is to provide individuals a safe space to freely explore new ways of being in the world.  Through collaboration and reflection, she helps clients to achieve clearer understandings of themselves so that they can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Marcie’s clinical interests and expertise include fostering healthy relationships, identity concerns, sexuality, geriatrics/aging, infant mental health, and interpersonal effectiveness.  She is skilled in interpersonal and psychodynamic approaches as well as mindfulness and evidenced-based CBT interventions.  For 20-plus years Marcie has striven to help people aged 13-100 to alleviate suffering and to ensure they are living in congruence with their values and priorities.

Marcie has a masters degree in counseling from the University of Kansas  where she focused on the mental health needs of women and the utilization of sociocultural theory in the understanding human suffering. Her career began in a crisis counseling center, and she has since worked in community and college counseling centers, hospice, and in early childhood intervention.  Marcie has specific training and certificates in CBT, Mindfulness, DBT, Early Intervention for 0-3, Bereavement, and Couples Therapy.
